For operators of semi-automatic taping machines, achieving precise tape alignment is crucial for product quality and operational efficiency. One of the most common factors that negatively impacts taping accuracy is improper paper feeding. Fortunately, mastering this process requires only a few basic adjustments and the right technique.
Follow this simple, two-step guide to ensure smooth, accurate, and hassle-free paper feeding every time.

Before you begin feeding the paper into the machine, you must properly calibrate the physical guide rails.
Carefully adjust the width of the paper feeding rails to match the size of your materials. It is critical to leave exactly a 1mm gap on both the left and right sides between the guide rail and the edges of the paper. This specific 1mm clearance ensures that the paper stays perfectly aligned and centered, while still having just enough room to move forward smoothly without snagging, curling, or jamming.

Step 2: Feed the Paper and Let the Machine Take Over
Once your rails are properly set, you can begin the actual feeding process.
Gently guide the paper forward until it reaches the space between the red roller and the machine head (as shown in the picture). As soon as the machine grips the paper, let go immediately.

Crucial Operator Rule: Do not push the paper further in, and do not pull or drag it back. You must allow the machine's internal mechanics to transport the paper automatically. If you manually push or pull the paper while it is being processed, you will disrupt the machine's feeding speed and alignment, which will directly alter the final taping dimensions and ruin the accuracy of your product.
By setting the correct 1mm rail clearance and trusting the machine's automatic rollers to do the heavy lifting, operators can completely eliminate manual feeding errors, ensuring perfectly uniform taping results on every single run.
